LEADING JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES TO JESUS – Five Simple Questions for Jehovah’s Witnesses on Faith and Works

Question 1: Why do we need salvation? Why can’t God accept us just as we are?

  • JW Response: All people are under the condemnation of death due to sin. (Romans 3:23; 6:23)

Question 2: Why did Jesus have to die to free us from sin? Why isn’t it enough to have our good works outweigh our bad works?

LEADING JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES TO JESUS – Eight Questions on How to Have the Assurance of Salvation

Question 1: What exactly do I need to do in order to be saved and to have eternal life?

  • JW Response: You need to learn about Jehovah (John 17:3) and obey His requirements to be saved.

Question 2:  After I study and learn about Jehovah, what else do I need to do? Do I need to join your religion?  If I join your religion, am I saved then?

  • JW Response: Yes, you need to become a Jehovah’s Witness, but no, you will not be saved until you “endure to the end” of Armageddon (Matthew 24:13).

Question 3:  So if I endure through Armageddon, then am I saved?  Am I perfect? Continue reading “Eight Questions on How to Have the Assurance of Salvation”

TRUE FREEDOM – Out of the Watchtower Organization Are you truly FREE?

Coming out of the organization after over 40 years of faithful service, one Jehovah’s Witness described his feelings this way:

“The JWs are kept so busy, they have no time to be ‘normal’ with some compassionate feelings. I feel sorry for them and must wait on Jehovah, for I don’t have the answers to adjust these ‘life’ seekers. If they truly seek the ‘Kingdom,’ matters would change.

They are tired and sit on the bus to the new world with their ‘tickets to salvation’. They all seem to believe the driver’s announcement ‘We will be on our way soon.’ Getting off the bus is humiliating, and every eye looks at you like you’re out of your mind. After the exit, one finds that the adjustment on the solid pavement is not easy, cause you have not learned the ‘right lessons’ for salvation and must start over with just your love of Jehovah and a hollow feeling of guilt. How can I have Jehovah’s approval on my life?

“‘Everyone thought I was this happy and vivacious full-time minister. I was always the one to help others with their problems. At the same time, though, I felt as if I were dying inside. Disquieting thoughts and mental anguish were taking a toll on me. I started to feel alienated from people. I just wanted to stay home in bed. For months, I begged Jehovah to let me die.’ —Vanessa” —The Watchtower, June 1, 1997, p. 24

Have you ever felt like no matter how hard you try, you’re not measuring up? Oh, you attend Kingdom Hall and plaster a smile on your face as if to say: “Everything’s fine,” but in your conscience, you know that you do not have Jehovah’s approval upon your life.

“Keep testing whether you are in the faith, keep proving what you yourselves are. Or do you not recognize that Jesus Christ is in union with you? Unless you are disapproved.”—2 Corinthians 13:5

I think we all go through times of self-examination where we reflect back on our lives and question our loyalty to Jehovah God. After all, this is what Scripture commands us to do! Each one of us needs to ask himself, “How am I measuring up?” “Am I truly ‘in the faith’?” Continue reading “How can I have Jehovah’s approval on my life?”

HOW TO WITNESS EFFECTIVELY TO JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES – Breaking the Watchtower Barrier Step-by-Step

When Jehovah’s Witnesses come to your door offering Watchtower and Awake! magazines, their only goal is to get you interested enough in their religion to consider becoming one of them.

They are not visiting you to consider your spiritual beliefs as viable options for their lives. No! They believe they already possess “the Truth.” So, in their minds, they don’t think you have anything to offer them. Their only purpose in being at your door is to teach you; not you them. So, how can a Christian get through to a Jehovah’s Witness who believes he or she already has all the answers? Continue reading “How to Witness Effectively to Jehovah’s Witnesses”

How realistic is the Watchtower plan of salvation? What does a person have to do in order to be assured of eternal life?1.

KAREN: Hello Cindy! I’ve been reading over our next lesson in the Watchtower brochure, What Does God Require of Us?, and I am fascinated by the prospect of eternal life forever in paradise. I can’t wait to learn more about how I can have this hope.

CINDY: That’s great, Karen! Do you know why the earth is not a paradise now?

KAREN: Yes, Cindy, the brochure notes that “Adam and Eve sinned by deliberately breaking God’s law. So Jehovah put them out of the garden of Eden. Paradise was lost.” 2.

(WDGR Lesson 3: “Who Is Jesus Christ?”)

“If the evidence of our faith is our good works, how many good works are enough so that we know we will be forgiven and accepted by God?” Karen challenges Cindy in regard to the Jehovah’s Witness concept that “exercising faith” through the door-to-door preaching activity proves an individual worthy of everlasting life.1.

KAREN: Hi Cindy!

CINDY: Oh, Hi Karen. I’m looking forward to our study in the Watchtower brochure What Does God Require of Us?. We’ve talked a lot about who Jesus Christ is, but why do you think Jesus came to earth as a man?2.

Are you good enough for eternal life?

jwfaithful

“None of us are in position to earn God’s gifts, least of all to earn the gift of life. But we can show ourselves worthy of the gift of eternal life by …dedicating ourselves to Jehovah and then proving faithful to that dedication.” —The Watchtower, August 15, 1952, p. 485 Continue reading “Are you good enough for eternal life?”
